The plus factor of the new Caddy Maxi EcoFuel is certainly its sensational range of 570 km, or if combined with the petrol reserve, a theoretical total range of 700 km.

The Caddy Maxi EcoFuel is a monovalent vehicle, just like its 47 cm shorter version, Caddy EcoFuel which was the best-selling natural gas vehicle in Germany, in 2008. The engine is a four cylinder, 2.0 litre petrol unit which produces 80 kw / 109 PS. It is appropriately compressed, for the purpose of an optimal energy efficiency.

Thanks to the longer wheelbase the tanks can load a total of 36 kg of natural gas.

The average consumption is 6.1 l of natural gas per 100 km. The petrol tank is automatically engaged should the gas supply run out. The driver will be informed by an electronic fuel gauge display integrated in the dashboard instrument panel. The Caddy Maxi EcoFuel just looks the same as the conventional model. The gas tanks are mounted beneath the vehicle, so they do not intrude the on the Caddy’s load volume. The Caddy is 4.88 m long and offers a load volume of 4.200 (box van). It is possible to comfortably transport up to seven passengers, as a standard.
